Delivering the spirit of matsuri with its prayers, gratitude and wishes
“Folk Performing Arts in Toshima” is held every year with the aim of preserving, carrying on and disseminating Toshima-ku’s intangible cultural properties. Due to the ongoing pandemic, organizers have been forced to cancel a succession of matsuri and traditional events all over Japan, something which has hit those regions hard. In the hope that matsuri can be held next year and bring life and vibrancy to regional areas, we are releasing a documentary video focusing on Toshima-ku’s intangible folk cultural properties.
