The artist YORIKO held the Oyako-School in 2016 and 2017 in Takamatsu, Kagawa prefecture; and in 2019 as part of the Theatre Arts Division/Art Culture Magical Academy in the framework of “Culture City of East Asia 2019 Toshima.” Having drawn a large and enthusiastic response from the public, the Oyako-School will be held again this year in Toshima-ku. With Owlspot’s conference room transformed into a classroom, parents and children will become classmates, playing and learning together in this limited-time-only “elementary school.” The instructors are professionals in various fields, as well as local experts. A bit different from conventional schools, these unique lessons are opportunities for parents and kids to share the fun and excitement of learning. Over a one-month period, Oyako-School will create a space for enjoyable exchange where participants have the chance to view the family in a new light.
