Community Guidelines for Tokyo Festival’s Official Social Media Accounts

Tokyo Festival is a comprehensive urban arts festival centering on the performing arts which aims to connect with the world through Tokyo’s rich and diverse arts and culture scene.
The Executive Committee Office (hereinafter the “Office”) uses social media to provide and distribute information regarding Tokyo Festival through the following Official Accounts (hereinafter referred to as the “Official Accounts”) operated by the Office.

The Office has established the following community guidelines (hereinafter the “Guidelines”) to improve communication with users through the Official Accounts.
By posting on the Official Accounts, you confirm that you have read and understood the Guidelines.

Operation

The Official Accounts and pages are operated by the Office and used as a platform to provide information on activities such as the program lineup.

Follows

The Office does not follow all users who follow the Official Accounts.
In addition, even users who do not follow the Official Accounts may be followed by the Office.
Please note that follows from the Official Accounts do not constitute the Office’s support or approval of the user, nor do they represent the views of the Office.

Reaction

The Official Account may react to user posts with shares, reposts, likes, etc.
Please note that reactions from the Official Accounts do not constitute the Office’s support or approval of the user or posts, nor do they represent the views of the Office.

Response

Please note that in principle we do not reply to posts or comments by users.

Handling of personal information

In the case where personal information is obtained on the Official Accounts, the Office will make efforts to manage it appropriately based on the Office’s Privacy Policy.

Points to note

  • Users of posts on the Official Accounts (including posts by users) do so at their own risk. The Office does not guarantee the accuracy, up-to-dateness, safety etc. of information posted.
  • The Office does not take any responsibility for the following. However, this will not apply in the case of intentional or gross negligence on the part of the Office.
  1. Damage arising in relation to posts on the Official Accounts (including posts by users)
  2. Damage incurred by users as a result of the use of the Official Accounts or in the inability to use them.
  3. Damage incurred by users or third parties as a result of trouble between users or trouble between users and third parties in relation to the Official Accounts.
  4. In addition to the above, damage incurred by users or third parties arising from or related to the Official Accounts.
  • With regard to posting on the Official Accounts, except for the following paragraph, and except when consented to by the Office (including obtaining consent from third parties through the Office when a third party owns the rights to the information in question), reproduction, etc. (excluding official reposts and shares on social media) is not permitted without permission from the Office.
  • When engaging with posts on the Official Accounts as permitted by copyright law, such as quoting, please clearly use an appropriate method to clearly state the source.

Prohibitions

With regard to the Official Accounts, please refrain from the following posts or other acts (including any acts that could result in the following, in which case the same shall apply as below).

  1. Posts that violate laws and regulations
  2. Posts that slander a specific individual or group
  3. Posts whose purpose is political or religious activity
  4. Posts that constitute infringement of copyrights, trademark rights, portrait rights, or other intellectual property rights held by the Office or a third party
  5. Posts that constitute advertising, publicity, solicitation, sales/business activities and other profit-oriented purposes
  6. Posts that discriminate against race, thought, belief, etc., or which promote discrimination against the same
  7. Posts that go against public order or morality
  8. Posts that are false or untrue
  9. Posts that harms privacy such as posting personal information without a person’s consent
  10. Posts that use or provide harmful programs
  11. Impersonating a third party to use the Office’s Official Accounts
  12. Tampering with posts or other information on the Official Accounts
  13. Interfering with the smooth operation of the Official Accounts or causing trouble or inconvenience for third parties
  14. Posting content unrelated to the purpose of the Official Accounts
  15. Contravening the Terms of Use of X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  16. Aiming to add links to the homepage including the contents of 1-10.
  17. Any other posts the Office deems inappropriate in addition to the above

Regarding changes to the Guidelines

The Office may change these Guidelines without notice.

Regarding operation of the Official Accounts

The Office may suspend, terminate, or delete operation of the Official Accounts without prior notice.
