  • Symposium “Stage footage cannot be released! ~Lecture and Symposium on master recording rights and synchronization rights”
When recording a stage production and distributing it as video, such as on DVD or for distribution, it is essential to properly handle the music (copyright and master rights). If any of these issues cannot be resolved, the music will have to be replaced, and if it is an important song, the video will be shelved. Influenced by this, there is a growing trend for stage performances to not use existing songs in the first place, to use free sound sources, or to create original sound sources of existing songs. What does this mean for the future of performing arts?
In addition to a public lecture on master recording rights and synchronization rights by EPAD Representative Director Kensaku Fukui, we will be holding a talk with guests from the front lines of the industry to think about the future.

Date and time: Sunday, September 29th, 13:00-14:30 Venue: Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Lower Plaza Speaker: Maku Shinoda (Executive Officer, General Manager of Performance Business Division, Horipro Inc.)

Hiroba Talk "Thinking one step ahead of the art scene from the field" Chihiro Kanamori (YAU) x Rei Nakajo (PARA) x Hirohiko Hanzawa(Tokyo Festival)

The past year or two may be a sign that the art scene is about to undergo major changes.
He is always at the forefront of the scene. He talks about his past experiences, his current worries, and even his fantasies, all while imagining how the scene will improve in the future.
In times like these, what can we do to think beyond the individual and into larger units such as teams, theaters, or art festivals? What role should these units play?
Can the movement sparked by a public framework and the subtle vibrations hidden within independent things come together to create one big wave?

Date and time: September 25th (Wednesday) 16:45-17:45
Reservation: Not required Participation fee: Free
