●Symposium “Stage footage cannot be released! ~Lecture and symposium on master recording rights and synchronization rights”

When recording a stage production and distributing it as video, such as on DVD or for distribution, it is essential to properly handle the music (copyright and master rights). If any of these issues cannot be resolved, the music will have to be replaced, and if it is an important song, the video will be shelved. Influenced by this, there is a growing trend for stage performances to not use existing songs in the first place, to use free sound sources, or to create original sound sources of existing songs. What does this mean for the future of performing arts?
In addition to a public lecture on master recording rights and synchronization rights by EPAD Representative Director Kensaku Fukui, we will be holding a talk with guests from the front lines of the industry to think about the future.

Date and time: Sunday, September 29th, 13:00-14:30
