About Tokyo Festival

The Tokyo Festival is an urban arts festival held every autumn mainly in the Ikebukuro area of Toshima Ward, aiming to connect with the world through Tokyo's diverse and profound arts culture. Now in its ninth year, the festival aims to showcase the appeal of Tokyo culture in an easy-to-understand way while also enhancing the creativity of arts and culture in Tokyo.

In the medium to long term, with a view to solving social issues, developing human resources, developing cities, and responding to globalization, the festival is developing an "arts festival that shapes the future of arts and culture" by hosting a wide range of performances, mainly some of Japan's largest performing arts venues, art projects, and numerous programs to develop talent who will be active internationally in the arts field.

The Tokyo Festival 2024 will focus once again on the unique appeal of performing arts, in which diverse values are born as many people visit theaters, engage in dialogue, and exchange ideas.
