Tokyo Festival Hiroba
Special cooperation for the Hand Saw Press program from Riso Kagaku Corporation
A plaza for information and exchange where people can freely drop in and connect with each other
For about two weeks during the festival, the “Tokyo Festival Hiroba” will provide a place for people to interact. Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre’s Atelier East exhibition space will be transformed into an area where visitors can see, experience, and interact with different works, activities and forms of expression offered by the festival.
As well as providing recommendations on the festival, the Hiroba will feature a station where visitors can print out and exchange “zines” (handmade, personalized publications), as well as a daily schedule of talks and workshops with artists and students.

RIZO ZINE STATION
The venue will feature the Rizo Zine Station zone, where everyone from children to adults can enjoy making their own ZINE (a small magazine produced by an individual). Equipped with a Risograph (a type of digital duplicator similar to a mimeograph), this space will visitors allow to create and exchange zines. On Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23, the Station will also play host to a workshop by Hand Saw Press, “Riso Zine Studio: Get Together!” There will also be an archive exhibition of zines made by previous participants. Each zine is different because the creator is different. Participants can encounter a rich range of zines as well as express themselves and share their creations.
Date/time: Every day during the festival period (last printing session 7:30 p.m.)
*Printing may not be possible when other program events are being held
