Is it risky to meet people?
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become possible to conduct more and more of our lives online. Why, then, would anyone want to share space with others, and why would anyone be forced to share space with others? This symposium brings together a panel of experts in the fields of media, healthcare, and performance in order to reexamine what it means to share space.
Program Director’s Comment
At Tokyo Festival, the series How to Create a Sustainable Environment for Performing Arts provides a forum for discussing issues facing the performing arts today. For this year’s symposium, we focus on “sharing space” and “moving across borders,” activities which became difficult under the coronavirus pandemic. We hear from specialists working on various frontlines as to what they are thinking about and what they are trying to do. Looking to the post-coronavirus era, we would like you all to join us in thinking about approaches to stage productions and international exchange going forward.
