What Alternative Spaces Are There in Tokyo from 2030?
Imagining Tokyo’s direction after 2030 from an alternative place
There has been a rapid increase in people working remotely as a result of the coronavirus epidemic, with viable working environments expanding beyond the office or beyond Tokyo. An outflow of population and culture from Tokyo is predicted as the result of a forecast increase in people making U-turns and I-turns to rural areas in search of a better environment (I-turn meaning people born in the city but relocating to the countryside).
What sort of opportunities will be left in Tokyo after the city ceases to play a role as a cultural and economic center? We invite people who are creating opportunities and a place for themselves in Tokyo to join Tokyo Festival Planning Team members in discussing the sort of environment they want for Tokyo ten years from now.
