End of Program

Lecture for Tokyo Festival Farm-Lab participants to be open to the public

Translator/theatre researcher HAYASHI Tatsuki of Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt features as guest lecturer for a discussion with Asia-based participants of Tokyo Festival Farm-Lab on the theme “Performing arts and society: values, fairness, process.”
This program is also open to the public by advance registration.

Comment from Lecturer

What should theatres and art festivals do in society? Who would be in charge?

To what extent are good works and good theatres/art festivals the same, and where do they differ? And is the question of what constitutes good art something universal for all eras and places, or is it something individual and specific?

How and on whom should money be spent in the performing arts? How should people work? What processes should we create, and based on what sort of values, and with awareness of what kind of fairness?

I would like to discuss these issues in a fundamental and concrete way with participants. I look forward to your participation.
