From Bangkok to Tokyo, and back:
Interchanging the five senses of cities

Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) has established itself as an increasingly important platform for the performing arts in Southeast Asia. In 2019, directors of both BIPAM and F/T attended each other’s events and gave presentations. As the next step in this ongoing collaboration, research was conducted in the respective cities and then those processes and results will be exchanged online. The project explores the extent to which the two cities of Bangkok and Tokyo are mutually translatable, and what output this may led to in the future. It is precisely in these unusual times we find ourselves in right now, when we are restricted from moving physically from location to location, that we should hone all the senses and seek out ways to inspire and stimulate one another.
