Dairakudakan Temptenshiki Crazy Camel Garden

© Hiroyuki Kawashima
Butoh dance company Dairakudakan is led by one of Japan’s most famous Butoh artists Akaji Maro, who is also actively involved in television and movie projects. By accumulating and constructing lost or forgotten gestures and movements in the dance style the troupe calls named Temptenshiki (“being born in the world is a great talent itself”), it has created numerous works and is highly acclaimed overseas in places such as Europe and the United States. Dairakudakan will present this special new reworked version of one of its repertoire pieces “Crazy Camel” as a one-off performance for Fantastic Site - Special Performances at Tokyo Festival at the Garden of Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.

With regard to Dairakudakan Temputenshiki “Crazy Camel Garden,” organized by Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture) for Fantastic Site - Special Performances at Tokyo Festival, although Tokyo is under a state of emergency, following the relaxation of restrictions governing the holding of events, performances will go ahead with measures in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, tickets will be refunded to people who do not wish to attend performances under the state of emergency in order to prevent coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. Please see Ticket Refunds for Dairakudakan Temputenshiki “Crazy Camel Garden” for details. Performances will be held during the state of emergency and therefore no same-day tickets will be available. Thank you for your understanding.
